The murder of his wife drove Joe Allen into a the anachronistic life of a pulp novel private eye. As he copes with life at the bottom of a whiskey bottle a woman with an hourglass figure and a murder to solve draws him into a plot of sex, drugs and politics. Joe is about to find out that in order to live the life of the hero, sometimes you have to die like one.
